Humayun is passionate about the concept of solar power energy, created the foundations for Silicon CPV Ltd, a Research & Development and manufacturing facility for solar panels in the UK.

Humayun Graduated in electronics from Liverpool University and started a successful career as a research engineer for ITT Components Group.

In 1979 Humayun founded Akhter, initially a distributor of computer products and peripherals. Throughout the 80’s and 90’s  Akhter developed and manufactured ‘Akhter Computers’ at its factory in the UK and become known for early adoption of new technologies and IT support services. Customers included ‘The Open University’, The RAF, and Ministry Of Defence. Akhter products and services are provided to the Healthcare, Education sectors, law enforcement bodies, and corporates and OEM sectors. In 1999 he was appointed Chairman and CEO of Ultima Networks Plc, a green technology company which promotes the use of green energy as an investment in global solar parks.

 Humayun, passionate about the concept of solar power energy, created the foundations for Silicon CPV Ltd, a Research & Development and manufacturing facility for solar panels in the UK which provides a range of high quality renewable energy products. The technological advancements through Silicon CPV’s research facility coupled with collaborative research with University of Southampton (Nano Technology Centre), Imperial College, Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems & Al Akhawayn University (Morocco) have resulted in increased silicon solar cell efficiencies and solar concentrator designs targeted at increasing the efficiencies of solar products. Humayun is also a visiting professor at Liverpool University and is also a renowned public speaker and an advocate of global renewable energy resources.
