Younes Maamar is Chairman of SiliconCPV and brings extensive senior management experience in operations, global development, acquisition, financing and equity investments of energy and infrastructure assets.
His experience in the industry began in 1996 with the World Bank Group and the IFC before joining in 2001, The AES Corporation as Project Director, working on business development for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
Prior to joining Silicon CPV, Younes Maamar was the CEO of Office National de l’Electricité, the Moroccan Integrated Power Utility. Under his tenure, the Moroccan Power company launched a comprehensive renewable and energy efficiency program that includes the “Chourouk Initiative” that calls for 500MW solar by 2015 and the development of an industrial zone dedicated to clean technologies
Younes Maamar holds Executive positions in Wilton Petroleum, a junior oil company and in eONE Investments LLP, a UK and Moroccan based energy developer focusing on power projects in emerging markets.
Mr Maamar is also Vice Chairman of Umeme Ltd, the electricity utility of Uganda, a 100% affiliate of Actis (the leading private equity investor in emerging markets), |
